Since I first saw a shot of Shingle Street in a photography magazine many moons ago, I have always been intrigued by this location. So today I took a trip out to get some long exposure shots featuring the coastguard cottages and shingle banks.
On my arrival I could see a line of cottages along Shingle Street. Some of these cottages were originally home to fishermen and river pilots for the River Ore. On my walk past the white cottages, it looks as if the end one is currently occupied by HM coastguard. The cottage now has a rather large antenna erected outside the building which I don’t recall seeing in previous images.
As I approached the beach I could see a rather large bank of shingle in front of me so I thought I would walk along it getting various long exposure shots along the way.
